Handlers of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State have been wrapped with the term ‘image-making blunder’ following their bid to create ‘history’ for the governor.
The ‘Big Gaffe’ story came into being when the governor’s handlers allegedly claimed that Sanwo-Olu is the first Governor of Lagos state to Visit Journalists at the Baguda Kaltho Press Centre
“They ended up a big gaffe with the claim that Sanwo-Olu is the first Governor of Lagos state to Visit Journalists at the Baguda Kaltho Press Centre” societynow.ng quoted a source to have said.
But records show Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress actually holds the record as Governor of Lagos state visited the Baguda Kaltho Press Centre in 1999.
Musbau Razak, Immediate past Chief Press Secretary of Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly confirmed Tinubu as the first Governor to visit Journalists at the Baguda Kaltho Press Centre and Sanwo-Olu, the online news platform reports.
Razak stated that he was one of the journalists that witnessed Tinubu’s visit in 1999.
The blunder committed in the effort to lay claim to history is reportedly attracting increasing criticism as Sanwo-Olu’s handlers continue to push the wrong narrative – in face of contrary fact.
