A senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Lanre Tejuosho has reportedly dumped incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun’s camp ahead of the 2019 governorship election in the state.

A report published by societynow.ng revealed that the medical doctor turned politician has pitched his tent with the circle that backed Dapo Abiodun to emerge the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in the state.

According to the source, the APC gubernatorial candidate in a matter of days will publicly and formally announce his support for the billionaire oil mogul, Abiodun.

However, a further report alleged Senator Tejuosho’s move was ‘to spite Governor Ibikunle Amosu.’

The reason was however hinged on Tejuosho’s senatorial ticket that was snatched by governor Amosu in his bid to return to the Senate after the expiration of his tenure.

The development did not go well with Tejuosho, sources claimed.

Amosun and Tejuosho are from the same senatorial district – Ogun Central.

The governor initially single-handedly picked all candidates for elective positions in Ogun state.

The governor’s decision was, however, upturned by the national working committee of the ruling party – APC.

Turn of the event in the last couple of months has greatly polarized the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun State – with governor Ibikunle Amosun on side and backers of party’s candidate Dapo Abiodun on the other.
