The Senate, on Wednesday at the plenary session confirmed the appointment of Abdulrasheed Bawa as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC).

President Muhammadu Buhari had last week nominated Bawa for the role

The new EFFC Chairman, while speaking during the screening, denied an allegation that he sold the seized property in EFCC custody at its Port Harcourt Zonal office.

Bawa said the seized property in Port Harcourt was properly disposed off by the agency’s officials from its Abuja head office.

Bawa, after his confirmation, takes over from former EFCC chief, Ibrahim Magu, who was removed last year following chains of fraud-related allegations.
