A senator representing Kaduna central, Shehu Sani declared that incumbent and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be voted against in the North East in the 2019 presidential election.

Sani believed to be defending his colleague and fellow party member, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim who had earlier made a similar statement that the president will not be voted for in the North Eastern part of the country come 2019.

Ibrahim, one of the region’s frontline politicians and chieftains of the APC, was quoted in Abuja at the weekend, as saying that even massive rigging may not save Buhari from the imminent defeat.

The former Yobe State Governor was said to have made the comment during the world-wide Internet Launch of his book ‘Poorlitics’ and 70th Birthday celebration.

Senator Sani further defended Senator Ibrahim representing Yobe central under the banner of APC on a comment that President Buhari will not get any support from North East Zone of the country in 2019 election.

But in a twist of event, Senator Ibrahim has since denied the newspapers reports saying he was misquoted out of contest.

In his reaction, however, Sani who recently dumped the APC, said Nigerians should “stop heckling or throwing stones on Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim.”

According to Sani, “He [Ibrahim] is just a meteorologist.

“All you need to do is to mind the weather and appreciate his forecast.”
