Shehu Sani to announce defection from APC this week

Sheu Sani, a Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district has announced his intention to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senator said he was left with no other option than to defect from a party believed to have been enveloped with high level of impunity in his state, Kaduna.

Sani while addressing journalists during the launch of a book on the former Kaduna State Governor, Balarabe Musa in Abuja, said his decision was wholly on the high level of impunity displayed by the party in Kaduna State.

He added he would have loved to remain a member of the ruling party but for the antics of Governor Ahmed Nasir El-Rufai, who was the alleged mastermind of the transgressions in the last party congresses of the state.

The senator hints he would announce his defection from the APC before the end of the week.

He, however, said he has believed in the newly elected National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole.

He said: “I believe in Adams Oshiomhole, I believe in his track record and I believe he is somebody who has the desire to put things right in the party.

“He is a capable hand, a revolutionary and a true comrade but Chief John Odigie-Oyegun left behind unexploded bombs in the party, which certainly may be beyond Oshiomhole’s capacity to address.”

He added: “I believe there are some of these problems he can solve and there are those he cannot. Those he cannot solve are the ones that were laid.

“I wish Adams had come earlier because like I said, these grenades that were laid by the former chairman will explode in a matter of days.”
