“It is in view of the foregoing reasons that the under listed clubs have unanimously agreed to pull out of the 2020/2021 league…”

The NNL Private Football Club Owners Association (NNLPFCOA) has threatened to boycott the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) 2020/21 season over issues bordering around match fixtures, poor officiating and appointment of referees.

The association expressed sadness over what it termed “as bad officiating” saying “it is so far worse than the inconclusive 2019/2020 season.”

The private club owners stated this in a letter sent to the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria National League and seen by newsheadline247.

According to the letter signed by twelve private football clubs currently participating in the NNL 2020/21 season, the association listed its major concerns as improper draws for 2020/2021 NNL season, unprecedented poor officiating in 2020/2021 and the appointment of referees.

“It is in view of the foregoing reasons that the under listed clubs have unanimously agreed to pull out of the 2020/2021 league with effect from Monday 22nd March, 2021 if nothing is done to address the issues raised in this letter,” it stated.
