…as Governor Sanwo-Olu advises against stigmatizing victims

The Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday announced that of five COVID-19 patients have been discharged after making full recovery from the novel virus.

The governor also advised against stigmatizing the discharged patients saying it is everybody’s collective responsibilities to support them get over the experience as soon as possible.

In his series of tweets, Sanwo-Olu added that “Although, there is a strong indication that the State is winning the battle against #COVID19, it is imperative that we remain steadfast to curtail the spread.”

“Today, I am happy to inform you that five more patients comprising two males and three females including a 10-year-old girl have tested negative twice to #COVID19,” Sanwo-Olu said on Twitter on Sunday.

“These 5 patients have been discharged to reunite with their families.”

With the latest discharged patients, Lagos now has a total number of 29 who have fully recovered and discharged from the state’s facility situated in Yaba.

“I want to also use this opportunity to advise Lagosians against stigmatizing the discharged patients. We need to do all we can to support them to get over the experience as soon as possible.”

The governor also thanked the health workers  – “Once again, I wish to thank our frontline health workers, members of the Lagos State Health Family and the Emergency Operation Centre for all their hard work. You all have been nothing short of amazing,” he tweeted.
