The much-awaited working document of the Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government Tourism Committee has finally been signed.

The document which was signed on Tuesday by the council and the Tourism Committee has put to rest speculations on the effectiveness of the tourism body inaugurated last year by the council boss, Chief Dele Adeniji.

The Chairman of the committee, Prince Femi Fadina, speaking to newsmen in Otta on Wednesday, said the signing of the Ado-Odo/Otta Tourism Committee working document is a huge stepping stone for the body to revamp the council’s forgotten “tourism treasure”.

“We intend to work with progressive stakeholder in the industry and also looking at the re-branding of the project at hand culturally and historically,” Fadina said.

Fadina, the Chief Executive of DINAT Consulting, also revealed that the committee shall be unveiling the Otta Tourism Plan-VISION 2030 soon.

He said, “Our goal is to increase investment in and development of new tourism product and to add depth and breadth to the industry while the strategy is to assist community leaders and tourism partners in fostering new tourism product within the community through the delivery of technical assistance and identification of financial resources.

“Our Committee will also take on many forms. Community and collaborative product development initiatives are participatory in nature therefore, consensus building is crucial because many projects take a longer time to come to fruition.”
